EVENTS

We have a great spiritualist medium who will happily tell you about any ghostly activity he senses during our investigations. However, we believe in our events being fully interactive so don't just take his word for it. You can participate in all our experiments and then decide for yourself if a place is haunted. Sceptic? That's fine and you are welcome too. It's important to have an open mind and there's nothing wrong in wanting a little extra proof before you accept that something is "paranormal".

We are keen to avoid creating autosuggestion before our events and therefore don’t like to give away too many of the spooky stories we hear about the places we are investigating.

One thing I will say is that we will never, ever set up things to artificially create ghostly noises or sights. It would serve no purpose for us as we are serious about investigating real paranormal activity.

Seaton HolmeSEATON HOLME, EASINGTON VILLAGE
SATURDAY 6 SEPTEMBER 2008

This 13th Century, Grade I listed building and is said to be one of the oldest domestic buildings in England. Once the Rectory of Easington it was built by Nicholas de Farnham in 1247 and has a fascinating history. For nearly 600 years it was the home of the Archdeacons of Durham, who were Rectors of St Mary's church.

The White HousePETERLEE COMMUNITY CENTRE
(THE WHITE HOUSE, EDEN LANE)
SATURDAY 20 SEPTEMBER 2008

Trust us, this place is an absolute gem. We are so excited to have found this venue and cannot wait to go back and meet more of its ghostly residents.

The house is believed to have been originally built for mine owners in the early 1900's with the dance-hall added in 1945. It is now used as a local community centre. We believe that there is a lot more to this place than meets the eye and that many of its spirits were there long before the house. The White House is exclusive to Old Haunts and we strongly recommend that you join us on our next investigation there.

Heugh Gun BatteryHEUGH GUN BATTERY, HARTLEPOOL
SATURDAY 4 OCTOBER 2008

As seen on BBC's "Restoration", the Heugh Gun Battery holds a special place in our hearts. It has undergone an extensive renovation programme and those who have been before will not believe the difference!

It was commissioned in 1859. German ships launched the fierce bombardment on Hartlepool in 1914 which killed over 100 people and left many more injured. The actions of those serving in the Battery that day most certainly saved the town from far greater devastation. The Battery was decommissioned in the 1950’s and was left to slowly decay until the Heugh Gun Battery Trust formed in 2000. The dedicated team of volunteers were determined to restore this site to serve as a lasting memorial to the men who served here and they have done an outstanding job. We have encountered plenty of spirits here in the past and we are looking forward to returning.

NORTH EAST AIR MUSEUM, SUNDERLAND
SATURDAY 11 OCTOBER 2008

We've heard so many stories about this place that we had to organise an event there.

Borough Hall BOROUGH HALL, HARTLEPOOL
SATURDAY 18 OCTOBER 2008

We waited a long time to get into the Borough Hall and our first event there was worth the wait. By popular request we have booked another night at this location.

Built in 1865, the Borough Hall was originally the administrative centre for Hartlepool housing police, the Mayors office and Courts. We are keen to avoid creating autosuggestion and therefore don’t like to give away too many of the spooky stories we hear about places. However, we will tell you that in this place people have reported being pushed when no one else was around and some staff feel uneasy in certain areas of this building. There are often smells that cannot otherwise be accounted for and there is an incredibly heavy atmosphere in one of the rooms that we feel is down to paranormal activity. We cannot wait to investigate this and the other claims we have heard about this place. Join us to delve deeper into the history of this building and to determine if this is one of the most haunted buildings around.
